Victoria Warehouse - The hidden treasure, we were lucky enough to find!

Sarah Robins, Team @YOURgb Senior Event Manager visits Victoria Warehouse in Manchester:

@YOURgb had the pleasure of visiting a hidden treasure this month – Victoria Warehouse in Manchester.  Sarah was welcomed and shown around by Faye Millar, Sales Manager, who was unbelievably passionate about the venue and very informative about its capabilities. Located just minutes from Manchester City Centre and alongside Trafford, Salford, Salford Quays and Media City – it is in a great, accessible location.

Victoria Warehouse is a completely unique, entirely innovative event venue, built in the 1900s. A huge, flexible floor space means it is adaptable to any event, exhibition, theatre production or music concert – “the more diverse, out-the-box the better”, Faye encourages.

Before you even enter the warehouse, the exterior offers a prime spot for stunning red carpet moments and fantastic branding opportunities.  Some simple lighting and dressing can easily enhance the exceptional entrance that will wow any audience on arrival.

As you walk in to the Warehouse, the raw, exposed brick walls and floors not only provide a great rustic backdrop but offer a blank canvas open for a transformation. There are so many different nooks and crannies within the venue, it is capable of holding smaller cocktail evenings or conferences in Room 3 (providing 198sqm of warehouse space) offering a quirky backdrop for around 300 guests and attendees; and in Room 2, with exposed rows of concrete columns spanning the entire width of the space, (this room is split into two bays: bay 1 – 659sqm and bay 2 – 536sqm).  The largest venue at Victoria Warehouse (Room 1), is phenomenal!  With a vast ceiling height it really allows almost anything to be housed in this unique space – previous fashion shows, car launches and gala dinners for 1500 people seated to 5000 standing have been hosted here.  The infrastructure built in Room 1 means AV rigging and lighting can be easily installed.  Room 3 acts as a great support room for catering and backstage for larger events held in Room 1 or 2.

One of my favourite spots was the Mezzanine level – it has the best views of Room 1!  With a maximum capacity of 800 standing, and not only a super cool space for exclusive hire with a bar, but the Mezzanine hosts a VIP glass balcony area with 17 leather private booths and tables, a great place to host your VIPs and top clients as it over looks the vast space of Room 1.

Adjacent to the Warehouse lies the Victoria Warehouse boutique hotel, spa, bar and bistro-style restaurant. It takes the raw, exposed and industrial features of the Warehouse and complements both its architecture and history with an eclectic mix of artistic finds with an eastern twist.  The lobby is industrial yet welcoming and you can sit back, enjoy a fresh roasted coffee, relax with a book from their eclectic library, or even request a special screening of a favourite film in their unique miniature vintage cinema. The Hotel boasts 33 en-suite guest rooms with a warehouse, bare brick feel, plus smaller raw event spaces that are similar in the style of the Warehouse.  You can hire the hotel exclusively, which is great for backstage space for staff and suppliers up early for show day!

There is no off-the-shelf, pre-packaged, event space here – this is a landmark building with so much scope beyond your imagination.  As event professionals, it is truly exciting to discover such a hidden treasure where our creative minds can run wild, and with the team at Victoria Warehouse sharing our innovative ethos, together we will work to make your event come alive!

We would like to keep this versatile, hidden treasure for ourselves, but such a fantastic venue won’t be kept secret for long!
